First Friday
So Near, So Far with Jaka
Friday, October 7, 2011 · 5:30–8pm
Terra Bella Bakery•Cafe
601 E. Dimond Blvd #6
Cuba is located only 90 miles South of Key West, Florida. It is hard to believe once friendly neighbor with such close cultural and political ties were so quick to severe those ties after the 1959 Cuban Revolution.
Cuba is a place of contrasts living side-by-side; old and new, shiny and rusty, rich and poor, oppressed and free. Though when I look at this land, I notice something so special about this place: people are so happy with much less than what we think!
The images reflect some of the impressions I had from my few days in Cuba in January of 2010.
